sertraline

I am struggling with day to day chores, motivation has gone and keeping on top of cleaning at home.

I am also menopausal and nothing makes me feel happy. I want my motivation back but not sure if I am on the right anti-depressants.

I am planning on seeing my doctor to review my antidepressants. Has anyone had a similar story and changed their medication and found it has helped?

Thanks

Sertraline wasn't for me and I switched to mirtazapine that I take at night. Side effects were being hungry when I first started it but that passed . Also makes you drowsy but that was a positive for me and as mentioned you take it before bed anyway

For me, it helped for quite a while when the meds were either changed, increased mg, or other meds added. This has been over a 30 year span. If you have those symptoms, I think it would helpful for you. If you aren’t helped after trying different meds, there are other therapies that you can try.

Thank you, I will make that call to the doctor… I have been on citalpram but now on sertraline but I have found since being on sertraline my get up and go has gone, might be to do with menopause too

Hi, I have suffered for 30 years since Menopause mis diagnosed. I have been on lots of different antidepressants over the years. Over the last 18 months no medication seemed to help and GP thinks I have become resistant to medication. I now think the Covid Vaccine has caused a lot of health problems all over the body. Mirtazapine is awful for putting a lot of weight on. Duloxetine was the best for me. Take care x

I have had a similar situation but a bit more extreme in that I couldn’t function at all and was very suicidal. I am also in menopause, which was a significant factor in the nervous breakdown I had. I’m now taking bio-identical estradiol to help with my estrogen levels. Not sure if it’s working to be honest but I’m on a very low dose. It might help you to try it. If you do, give it a few months to see if it’s working and don’t bother with the lower doses. Hope that helps.
