I used Azithromycin for strep throat for three days but on the the third day I had a bad anxiety attack.

Mike, I was just researching Antibiotics and Anxiety Symptoms. Since we are all different

we tend to experience anticipational anxiety regarding being on the drug itself or even

having stomach issues related to the antibiotics. However, it has been told that the

drug itself doesn't cause anxiety. Now like any other drug, it can overstimulate the

nervous system of an anxious person causing what feels like anxiety.

I hope your throat is feeling better. Write this medication name down so if you

should need antibiotics another time, your doctor will be aware of what happened. xx

They do disturb the microbiome. I tend to avoid them as much as I can. I've never experienced anxiety attacks on them but I've heard of others having that experience.

personal experience YES!! Why? Couldn’t tell you. Happened to me with a kind I had used before more than once and never had issues. My advice would be call and speak to the pharmacist or your doctor or even both. Maybe they can switch you to a different one. Hope you Feel better.
