Gabapentin A&D

I was prescribed gabapentin at 3 x 300 mg per day back in February 2015 for neuropathic pain after being involved in a serious car crash.

After a CT spectrum scan in 2021, I was advised the pain I was experiencing was radiating from my sacroiliac joints and to wean off the gabapentin.

Stupidly I did this myself without being monitored by my Doctor starting at the beginning of November 2021, I reduced my daily 900mg dosage of gabapentin to 600mg weaning myself off gradually over the next few weeks by 100mg with my last dose being on the 9th of January 2022.

After a few weeks I started to feel strange, followed by a complete mental health breakdown. Some of the symptoms I experienced at different times were

. Hearing Loss/Amplification

. Depression

. Panic Attacks

. Anxiety

. Palpitations

. Suicidal/Violent Thoughts

. Nausea

. Headache

. Restlessness/ Itching

. Tearful

I took Gabapentin for seven years and whilst taking it I can say my symptoms improved and my pain scale reduced!!!

PLEASE if you're on it and want to stop see your doctor and wean off under their supervision as I would not wish what I've been through these last eight month on my worst enemy!!!

My mom take that same drug for Trigeminal Neuralgia 300mg
