Anyone on Lexapro

I started taking Lexapro 5mg. My head feels hard , I have no concentration and I am so sleepy.. Anyone ever take this med ? Will it go away?? I have PTSD with depression and anxiety. Seems the anxiety has only gone away.

Hi. I’ve been taking Lexapro for 3 months now and I used to take it for 6 months 4 years ago. It will take 4 to 6 weeks to see the proper results. Meanwhile you will get bunch of side effects which will disappear, but I promise you will see the good results. You depression and anxiety will get less,it’s not like you won’t have any thoughts in your head it’s just makes you less sensitive and gives you more energy and positive way of thinking. I’m very hypochondriac person,chronic anxiety and also I was diagnosed with celiac disease last year,my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer,so I had a lot on my plate.Lexapro got everything under control , I keep sending positive energy to the universe and keep getting it back. I do have tingling sensation in my fingertips and toes it might be related to Lexapro. Long story short if you have depression and anxiety 5 mg Lexapro is a good start you just have to wait 4 weeks to see results,unless you get severe side effects. You might get very bad anxiety for the first 2 weeks,your body needs time to adjust to that medication. I had severe anxiety for the first 2-3 weeks and doctor prescribe me Xanax as well. Your symptoms is very common and will fade away soon. Good luck
