I have anxiety about going back into the office after being home for so long. I can’t stop crying and having anxiety attacks about it. Any tips?

How do you make it through the work day?
I totally understand where you are at, I feel the same way. I am lucky that I get to stay home for my job but I feel so much for those who are being forced to go back to 'in-person' work. My social anxiety has caused me to leave several jobs because I become exhausted and cannot handle the pressure. I don't have a cure all piece of advice, but just knowing that many other are in the same boat and are anxious to go back to work could be a source of comfort. You are not alone. I try to think that when I am anxious I am so wrapped up in my head that I barely have time to focus attention elsewhere. It is likely that others feel this way too, so there will be less eyes on you because they are in their head too! Maybe you can breathe a little easier knowing that... Be kind to yourself. This is a hard situation. Don't expect perfection either, just do your best! I hope this helps <3.
It is a difficult time for many, you are not alone in this. Did they send you a "return to work" policy addressing safety? Have you reviewed it? If not, decide for yourself what makes you feel safe. If it's wearing a mask, try to find a comfortable one. I don't like the alcohol smell of hand sanitizer, so I look for one that has a pleasant scent to carry. If someone reaches out to shake your hand, respond with a fist or elbow to bump. Taking proactive steps can help ease the anxiety. As for the rest, deep breaths, tend to one thing at a time, take short breaks as needed. You got this! Prayers for calm.
