COVID jab reaction.

Has anyone still experienced flu like symptoms a week after having their jab?

Had my vaccine a week ago and still don’t feel ok. I’ve got a runny nose and feel tired and washed out. Don’t know wether to ring docs or just try to ride it out.

Unfortunately anxiety makes my symptoms worse and I don’t want to contact anybody about nothing!!

Any advice would be appreciated.

If you are concerned always consult your doctor first, they will be able to better answer your questions.

Thank you for your quick reply.

I think you should call your doctor because it's been a week...because i think my friend only had it bad for 3 days after she got her vaccine..

Yes, I think you’re probably right. I’m my own worst enemy. I hate ringing the doctors in case it’s nothing!

I know how it feels to call a doctor and turned out that youre okay. But just to make sure though you still need to call the doctor or maybe talk to someone who understand about the vaccine. I hope youre okay tho! Don't let the anxiety make your symptoms worse. Stay safe and stay healthy!

Hi the official advice is if you are still feeling the effects of the jab after a week is to ring 111. I know this coz I rang them the other day about a different matter.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hi I had the Pfizer jab on Sunday . Woke at 330am shivering and flu like . Monday and Tuesday were rubbish. Wednesday and Thursday a bit better but still not right and tired . In addition slightly raised HR by about 15 bpm . Guessing it will sort itself out . What do you think the doctor could do for your symptoms ? Am guessing nothing Unless things got worse the vaccine is in my body now and will just have to sit it out. Take it easy and try and distract yourself . We re all different and some of us take longer to recover than others

Hi. Rang 111 cos that’s what it said to do on the COVID vaccine leaflet. They got me a doctors phone appointment. He said it was probably an extreme reaction to the vaccine but he sent me for a COVID test to make sure I’m not positive and, if it comes back negative, to get back to the docs as there could be something else going on. So it’s a waiting game. Should hopefully get the results tomorrow and take it from there.I feel happier in myself knowing I’ve done all I can so will hopefully sleep tonight.

Thank you very much for your kind comments-they make perfect sense .

Hi, took me about 10 days to feel normal again. So sorry you feel poorly.

Your symptoms sound the same as what I had.

Doctor sent me for a COVID test which came back negative so basically to take paracetamol and rest which I did and gradually got better.

I just kept telling myself that it’s better than catching COVID.

I’m sorry I can’t be more help and I know how frightening it can be to feel poorly like this. I know you can ring 111now and there is an option for side effects from the vaccine.

If you don’t start to feel better soon that could be an option.

Even if they can’t help they could put your mind at rest.

Take care and hugs to you.

Thanks Purpletara I think you are right. I couldn't keep away from the loo just after five days the odd thing is no temperature after twenty four hours I felt well. But today the symptoms from the jab initially are the same I now feel off flu like again. I had no choice with the jab husband ill daughter due heart op and me with low thyroid no option. Having said that it wasn't just for my family that I made the choice but for humanity. I just cant see how this horrid virus is ever to go away. I think sadly it will be around for a long time. What do we do wait for more deaths and poverty to set in. Thank you for your kind thoughts.

I don't know if it's true but they say that if you have a bad reaction the first time then the second jab doesn't have much of a reaction. Don't know if it's true but we can only hope.Hope you are feeling better today.

Hi well I have just finished my ironing and I still feel weak mostly jelly legs. Not to bad now. I am warm but not sweating odd. Had egg for lunch with brown bread had a gluten free evening meal last night no gastro symptoms so at least that seems ok. Thank you I hope you are ok.
