I’ve been dealing with anxiety for almost a decade. My biggest fear came true a month ago when I developed a pulmonary embolism after arthroscopic knee surgery. I made it to the ER in time and my prognosis is positive. I’m currently on blood thinners and started taking Zoloft to help with anxiety but I can’t seem to stop worrying and thinking the worst could happen. The side effects of the blood thinners and now the Zoloft are driving me insane. How can I continue like this? I don’t feel well and my constant worry makes it even harder to stay positive.

Anxiety and extreme worry due to health issues
Your biggest fear happened and you were strong enough to make it through.*High five's and Hugs*
You got treatment to get better. That is fantastic! Focus on the positive in the situation.
Most of all focus on the fact that YOU were strong enough to make it through the whole process! *Hugs*
Stay Strong. Be Well.
Thank you, I just fear it happening again and also I have all these other symptoms that are adding to my anxiety. I feel like my body is failing me. Stomach, muscular, lungs, heart... it’s so hard... to not be in this constant fear -anxiety mode.
The likelihood of it happening again while you are on blood thinners is very slim. I mean the kind of very slim I would describe as "Don't waste your time worrying about it, kind of very slim"
Be present and in the moment for your wife and kids. They are the most important thing. Wasting your time worrying about the "what if's" it is not worth it compared to the memories you could/should be making with your family.
Be Well.
Sorry to hear about your health problems . Can I ask you what is the worst that can happen? I will pray for you
Thank you for your prayers. The worst is dying and not being here for my wife and 3 kids.
Juiz3count, I only speak from my own experience...I too am on blood thinners and feel
just the opposite of you. I feel more secure knowing that it's protecting me from a clot,
heart attack and stroke. If we look at the positive outcome of medication, we can continue going forward living and not just existing in a state of fear.
Heal well with that knee. xx
I’ve had several tests done in the last 4 weeks. On one of my ct scan it showed I have a hiatal hernia and now I am getting these spasms every few hours and I feel like I can’t breathe for a second or two. It’s one thing after another with this... my stomach is a mess - not sure if due to the blood thinners or the Zoloft which I started 4 days ago and have now decided to stop due to this... I eat and soon after I’m in the bathroom ... I’m so fatigued and worried ...
Thank you ! I decided to stop taking it. My stomach /abdomen is really hurting and now I’m getting pain all over my body! Like someone is pinching me.. my arms, legs, ... also getting left pain shoulder blade.. I’m a mess
