Poem ~ Demons Ritual Hunger

The gateway to hell has opened.

I can feel the flames scorching my feet.

I catch a glimpse of the demons ascending through the flames.

They snatch up my ankles.

I struggle to break free.

I escape.

Tearing through shadowy corridors, I hear them calling out to me, Chasing me.

A claw strikes my face with a strong force.

Sending me crashing to the floor.

Blood trickles down my face.

I try searching for something to strike them with as they begin to hover my body.

They claw at my legs, Arms, And Stomach.

Searching for my chest.

Fangs trickle with their hungered spittle.

Claws trickle with my blood.

They find their way to my chest.

Their claws gouge through my skin

They search for my heart.

They found it.

They grasp it, Wrench it out, And raise it to the sky.

They praise their vile God for presenting them with such a powerless soul.

Then they devour me whole.

Thanks. Something I wrote in my late teens, maybe early 20's. Never really was able to talk to therapist because they're also so textbook knowledge & not really, "I know exactly how you feel & know what you're going through", type of people. Poetry, at many times in my life, was a great outlet for my depression & fear.

Me too. I'm glad you've found a way to express yourself and release some stuff. It is hauntingly beautiful and I can really feel everything you wrote x
