What do you do for income when you have anxiety & depression and meds aren't working?

What do you do for income when you have anxiety & depression and meds aren't working? It's a vicious circle. If I didn't have the anxiety and panic attacks I could work outside the house. The more I try to figure it what to do it how I can do it, the more anxious I become, making it harder to imagine working where I have to be around anyone. It's so embarrassing to have a panic attack and crying, especially if it were around strangers or in public.

try call centers....any and every body works at these places, I did...and they have grave yard and mid shift that are quieter usually and few people around...your on the phone...you don't have to talk to other co-workers if you don't want to....many come in, sit down, do their job, and go home without speaking a word to anyone. Start looking for local clinics that have therapists working for their licence hours and you pay on a sliding scale....

I actually work from home. I can choose my schedule so that I can work when I'm home alone and it's quiet or at night after everyone's asleep. It's transcribing doctor's notes, but there are lots of work from home positions such as customer service, technical support, editing, freelance writing. If you're in the United States, look up the website for the Penny Hoarder. There are lots of legitimate work at home positions they speak about there. That's where I found my transcription position. I'm paid by the word, but as I said, there's no set schedule, so anytime I have even a half hour free, I'll sign on and work a bit. You do have minimum quotas, but it's nothing that isn't doable.

I would love to be able to work from home, would help so much! To transcribe do have to have to know medical terminology or be a fast typist?

As for call centers, it would be extremely hard for me to talk on the phone to people. Also I'm scared if having a panic attack while on the phone.

Do you know if there is any place's name where I can see what jobs I can find and do from home, in Canada? What is a call center? I am fine on the phone talking to others, it's more if I have to leave home. I don't know how to find these places.

I'm sorry I don't know about Canada. In the US there's a job site called Indeed.com that covers a lot of job openings. I searched for ' remote work from home'. But you can start with just the word remote and add call center, customer service, medical coder, graphic artist or whatever to search for work at home jobs, which is what they mean by the term 'remote'.

You could probably just do a search on the internet, but be careful they aren't scams, I would use any major job search sites you have there.

I Googled 'call center' and here is what it says, "Call center representatives are the people you speak with when you call your bank, order a new sweater from a catalog or make airline reservations. They do everything from assisting people with customer service complaints to making telemarketing calls."

There are some companies where you can do this from home. That's great you are ok with talking on the phone, closer to getting a job!

Not what you're looking for?
