Hi, All. I'm new here. I'm 35 years old and have suffered from panic and anxiety since I was 19. Luckily, I found activities that really helped -- exercise, meditation, yoga. I've been to counseling to help deal with my anxiety and I'm open with my friends and family about my condition. When I was 20 I started taking Lexapro, which was a game changer for me. It really helped and I went entire years without having panic attacks. Late last year my husband and I started trying to get pregnant. In preparation for this, I weaned off of Lexapro. I felt really good for quite a while. I'm in my seventh month of pregnancy now and have been having panic and anxiety since the second trimester. My OBGYN really encouraged me to start taking Lexapro again and assured me that lots of women take this medicine during pregnancy and have completely healthy babies. It felt like a failure to start taking the medicine again, but I was getting to the point of becoming agoraphobic.
If anyone else here has experience with anxiety with or without medication during pregnancy, I'd love to hear from you.
And I wish everyone here a good, low-stress day.
