Won't get help

Hi hoping for any pointers to help my gran to get the help she needs. She is definitely suffering memory loss which has worsened over the years every test says she needs to see a doctor. My grandparents are of the generation that don't like to bother doctors and to be honest I think my grandad is scared of her being taken into care. Initially he refused to acknowledge any issues and said shes always been a bit daft. After a very difficult conversation about 18 months ago he finally agreed to take her to the doctors she did a memory test and was told to have some blood tests and scans so she got understandably very upset to which my grandad took her out and said he wasn't letting anyone upset his wife. Since then she has definitely worsened further any ideas as to how I can approach the discussion with my grandad again? Details of what happens with the blood tests and scans and possible treatment/care opinions would be really useful so that I could go through different scenarios with him and hopefully give some reassurance.

Thanks for reading!

Welcome to the community.

Given your grandparents situation, perhaps starting with your local Alzheimer's support organization is worth a try. They will have trained staff that can review best options and map out a plan.
