I’m trying a new supplement for my son and discovered the gel cap contained HYPROMELROSE- which I know has PG. I ordered gel caps made from vegetable cellulose off Amazon- am emptying the powdered contents out of the bad gel caps into the new gel caps. (Kind of genius I think!) BUT am worried - could there be any residue of HYPROMELROSE from old gel caps on the powered supplant? Any opinions in this? (Note - tried to just mix powder into water or applesauce but the taste is horrific).

Years ago I did the same thing---emptied my original capsule of a medication into a new vegetable capsule and it worked very well. I'm sure there could be some left-over residue, but it should be miniscule. Hope it works for your son!
I have also put on gloves and dumped the powder out of hypromellose caps into fresh, clean gelatin capsules. Thus far, I have not had a reaction. As long as these capsules have not been subjected to undue humidity, it's probably okay.
