I also have Copd lung infection, and breathing difficulties, Am not under a particular specialist, for either case, who should my GP be reffering me to?

I have gastic problems too, am on proton pump inhibitors, the gastic problems seem to bring on the AF!!?? So, should it be a gastroenterologist? or a cardiologist? or a respritory specialist? HELP!

Hello Dirose, I have the same as you. I am being treated for asthma/COPD, acid reflux and go in and out of AF. I've been under my cardiologist for nearly 4 years. I'm not sure when they discharge you.

I was batted backwards and forwards with cardio and lung clinic, but I am on meds now, probably for life.

I do have a phone number for the cardiac nurse and have just been told to see the gp with any problems.

I'm not sure if you take medication ?

Hi! yes, your condition sounds similar to mine. What meds are you on Please? My cardiology doctor has done nothing in a ten month period, except prescribe warfarin! My doctor wrote to him and suggested a heart stress test, some months ago, but neither of heard a word!!!

So, I am on warfarin from my GP, and Omeprazol (proton pump inhibitor for the acid) and inhalers for my COPD. That's it! what would you suggest please

Hi I have pararoxaml Atrill Fibrillation for 5 yrs , minor leaky heart valves , high LDL low HDL , mild COPD , & gastrointestinal problems . I am on Tambocor , Vascoardol-CD, Sigmaxin , Asprin for AF ect , Spivia for COPD - this I can only take when I absolutely need it because it sets of the AF . I am pretty sure the gut problems are caused by the meds for AF so my Cardio has put me on the Mediterreanan Diet which has improved the gut problems no end & of course is very good for heart health & lowering cholesterol - my body doesn't like the statins . I am on 6 monthly review with the Cardio & see my GP for any in between problems . In my case I think the mild COPD has set of the AF although my mother had AF as well so who knows . Hope this helps

Hi

~it is upsetting to see that aspirin is still being prescribed for AF patients when it is not now reommended especially if you already have gastric problems. The latest recommendations if you have a CHADSVasc score that indicates this risk is anti coagulants. ~It might be worth tlaking to you GP about this

The gut problems I have are not related to Asprin - my gut flips which equals a twisted bowel & is relieved in the ED & as I am under 60 yrs of age I would rather remain on baby asprin instead of coagulants at this point in time .

I was only 52 when I was put on warfarin and have never had any problems with it. If you are only on aspirin for the AF there really isn't any benifit in keeping taking it. But if you have other cardiac problems then that is an entirely different thing.

I have had 2 heart attacks , one when I was 47 & the other when I was 58 , I'll keep taking the asprin .
