Although the term heart failure can sound ‘scary’ it does not mean that your heart is about to stop working! Although heart failure can be a serious condition, it only means your heart is not working as efficiently as it should be and that it needs a little help to make it work better.

Like lots of things, the name is often worse than reality.

They should change the name/description from heart failure to heart dysfunction or something similar, unless heart actually in the process of failing imminently. I wouldn't be surprised if some people suffered significantly from worry/anxiety after being told they had heart failure.

I agree! It's a ridiculous name. What medical person thought that was a good idea??
