Ectopics

I will preface this by saying I’m well versed in the reasons for ectopics, atrial, fibrillation, etc

I had a successful cryoablation two years ago. Two weeks ago I started getting topics randomly strangely I’m getting a few when I start off normal exercise like walking etc but they disappear into the walk. It’s the same sometimes if I climb a flight to stairs, I have them fleetingly.

Prior to my ablation, I had ectopic etc for sometime, but this is a completely different experience. No other symptoms. The reason for this post is to ask if anyone else has had the same experience.

When I start my walks I too get random ectopics and then 20 mins into the walk I’m fine. I assume my heart is beating a bit slow due to beta blockers but when I am into the walk my heart goes a bit faster, and therefore it is beating at a normal level and not the initial struggle of when I first start the walk, if that makes sense. In fact the more walks I do, the less ectopics I get when first starting the walks. Not something to worry about unless you go into fibrillation.

I also get ectopics at the beginning of any exercise, then they disappear. I think we have excitable atria and they take a while to ‘warm up’, if you will, and get into rythm during exercise.

I did have Cryoablation on April 10. It took about 2 months for my heart to recover. First week I had several short episodes of AFIB. Gradually had no more episodes. Haven’t had any AFIB in since late June. I had the top EP and he had years of experience and also teaches at University. He told me after years of ablations, he finds the Cryoablation is more succcessful.

I have not stopped any of my original meds however. He advised will look at reducing meds in a couple more months.

Hope this helps.
