Lead in place this time

I’m 5 weeks post lead replacement due to lead drop out on first attempt

Was told by tech guy I’m ok to use my arm

Again

Muscle will have a good hold of the wire

Next is AV node ablation

Tech guy said think long and hard about that one

If your worse afterwards no going back

I’m was focused in doing it

But now I’m rethinking

Oh dear

Someone on this forum felt so much better with their pacemaker, that they decided not to go ahead with the AV node ablation. See how you get on.

I had pacemaker implanted 2018 in preparation for AV node ablation. I had some problems and had to have the LV lead replaced and repositioned but throughout I had almost no AF from the moment the PM was switched on. As soon as the device was disconnected for the replacement lead - straight back into AF.

I felt SO much better I cancelled the AV node ablation believing that if I became symptomatic again I could change my mind - so I would wait see how you are after 4-6 weeks and decide then. I have not regretted not going ahead with the AV node ablation although I have had a handful of episodes due to COVID and bouts of pneumonia. Best thing I ever did.
