I put up a link on anticoagulants that I found on the Medscape site. It is a really good one; actually one that doctors complete for education credits. Each of us can do it too and the information is really an eye opener. It makes one understand just how varied a doctor's advice can be. This information could be significant to some people since most are prescribed anticoagulants.
For years, I and others have been posting studies found on Medscape and this is the first time I have had one taken down apparently because I am advertising Medscape. The post I put up is no different than the many posts made about other sources of information. Common ones are the Daily Mail, Dr. Sanja Gupta, Kardia heart rate monitor, Pub Med, Mayo Clinic, and numerous other sources of information. Both Kardia and Dr. Gupta financially benefit from posts on their topics. I don't think Medscape does.
Has anyone else had this happen? Tracey said she/he would investigate this further. Perhaps if others comment on the value of studies found on Medscape, Tracey will allow them.
I was going to post a study found on Medscape on Left Atrial Acclusion for women. It is an eye opener as well. Women's hearts are very different from men's but most of the studies are done on men's hearts.
I have learned a great deal from information posts made by others and would like these types of posts to continue. This is one of the real benefits of this Health Unlocked Site.

Not seen it appear even Engmac never mind being taken down. I have lost posts I spent ages writing before now when an internet blip shut me out so are you sure that didn't happen?
Tracy did give me the reason and is watching this post. I am not trying to be difficult but I do think studies posted on Medscape are often of value to people on this site. I only post a very few; not all the ones that I read. It is very hard to relay the content without posting the link.

I think the rule is that one should not merely post links but include a synopsis. This has always been the case. Medscape requires membership and many of us are reluctant to sign up to such things. Posting a precis of content is quite in order to my belief.
Fair enough Bob but in the forum rules it also asked we don’t post articles but provide links.
I am often bemused & confused as to the reasoning of deleting some posts & threads without a credible reason yet others remain? I’ve had a few removed without any notification, which for the life of me I couldn’t see was provacative in any way. 🤷♂️
Yes, also experienced the internet blip - usually when Admin are in the middle of posting so assumed there’s some sort of conflict going on there.
There is not really a membership on Medscape. You just create a login name, email and password as you do on the Health Unlocked site. I ask them to send me the articles posted on Atrial Fibrillation and what's new in cardiology for the week. I do not get asked for anything and I don't get unwanted emails or any spam. When I log in, I can search for topics and read anything on the site. The main page on the site gives the latest alerts on many topics; for instance, FDA warns Providers to stop using Eco-Med products for risk of bacterial infections. I have been on the site since 2015. I think it is a good source of credible information. I suggest that you take a look. Of course there are lots of articles related to Covid 19.

The irony is that whenever a post gets taken down there is often a lot more coverage and discussion than if it just sat there quietly read by only those who were interested.
PS = for those that don’t know Medscape doesn’t itself do research or publish anything or sell anything - it’s an open access library and a go to destination if you want to read about research, recent publications/articles/studies on any medical topic.
Hi EngMac. Substitute PracticeUpdate (a site that has results of current trials) for Medscape, and get the same response (word for word) from administration as well as having the link deleted. That's what happened to me. I also thought the " information could be significant to some people." It is a shame and sad that valuable information must now be muzzled really diluting what was once an excellent forum.
EngMac, would this be the study, as published in the British Medical Journal?

This is not the same article. Hopefully, Admin will put up my original post and people can get the link. If not, maybe I can find it on Medscape and point it out for those who have access to Medscape. I am travelling right now so will see if I can do this later.
HiI’ve tried getting into Medscape but it asks for Profession and Country of Practice, can you help advise how to answer as I would be interested in looking at it but I’m a pensioner.
