My GFR level is low 67.7. It was normal 2 years ago. I do have valvular heart disease and I was on Toprol for 11 years. I am 45 y/o. Did anyone have a low GFR levels with no reason?

This is something that you need to talk to your doctor about. I haven’t had anything reported to me and my last was >90 - no further information given.

I had low-ish eGFR at about 57. This can be due to excessive exercise where muscle breaks down and raises creatinine levels. This isn't a problem. After my ablation I moderated my exercise and my eGFR increased to about 65. I think this was partly reduced exercise and partly more efficient filtration in the kidneys.

Anything over 60 is not a problem anyway.

You can have a separate test for creatinine which might identify if you produce a high level through exercise.

The print-out that I have from the lab is that normal is less than 60. You are above that.

My GFR went from 75 pre AF diagnosis to as low as 41 onto a two weeks ago of 48.

A walk-in physician stated that two causes are dehydration and drugs. For AF, I have been on a slew of drugs, plus for the blood test I was not supposed to have any food for 10-12 hours except water, but I probably drank too little water. I seem to fit both categories.

I an being re-tested.
