Swollen Hands and Legs - High Blood Pressure and AF

From June 2015 to October 2017 (30 months) I was on a daily combination of Perindopril 4mg, Bisoprolol 1.25mg and Warfarin 2mg to treat high blood pressure and AF. Last October 2017 my hands and legs suddenly swelled up and I found it very difficult to get up from a normal chair or to move around. I lost my sense of balance.

In January 2018, I finally identified the culprit as Bisoprolol (and if you look at the various forums you can see the extent of the Bisoprolol problem). With the agreement of my GP I have now been off Bisoprolol for a month (whilst continuing with the Perindopril and Warfarin) and I am 90% back to normal.

However my hands are still somewhat swollen and I cannot bend my fingers to make a proper fist with either hand. I seem to have stopped getting better. Any ideas?

I think you need to speak to your doctor again about this as we are not medically trained.

Thanks BobD

I spoke to my GP about my concerns. He said that the situation may improve over time.

He recommended that I try hand excercises with my hands over my head to assist the fluid in my hands to run down and I have been doing this.

I was hoping that someone had similar problems and that I could try whatever had worked for them. For example: perhaps an alternative ace inhibitor to perindopril might work.
