Pluvicto and vomiting

anyone else have that side effect?

I had my first injection exactly one week ago. I didn’t notice any side effects, but two days ago I had the dry heaves, and today a couple of full vomits. Funny that I had no food this morning and only cup of water for meds. Followed by some Pepto-Bismol, 1 hour later when it felt like heartburn. 5 minutes later vomiting.

Is 5-7 days since injection in the zone of normal? ChatGPT it should be just a few days.

Going to call the triage nurse and see if I can get some nausea meds.

Usually they give you nausea meds at the time you get the injection. It is a side effect of the Pluvicto therapy.

Yeah they didn’t give me anything for it, I know it’s a listed side effect.

Just curious if others had had it and how long after injection.

Thanks

I did not notice that I got it but I had constipation after the injection. Nausea for a week after the injection is a long period but I would not worry about it.

I did not experience nausea but for about a week after the shot, most food tasted poorly. And my hemoglobin plummeted to 9 and has never returned to normal, just fluctuating in the high tens.

many people also reported extreme fatigue after 10 days.

Enjoi! Its always better than the longrun alternative. I am hoping to get it in Australia, 60k I'm told, likely cost, if I can get access, 10k a shot. Hoping to sweet -talk a discount of some sort.

I have nausea often and am not really sure if Pluvicto increased it? When I have nausea or acid reflux I use a generic equivalent to Mylanta and find it is much better than Pepto which does pretty much nothing. The one I really liked was discontinued because it was killing people? That was Malox and I think it was some QC issue not that the stuff was always bad. Too bad because it really worked. I still have a few tablets and little plastic containers of it that you could get in Europe but not here, in reserve for "emergencies"

Maalox was always my favorite for dealing with heartburn.

i’ve had two cycles of Pluvicto - vomited once each cycle, both times within 48 hours. Hemoglobin and platelets both low - third cycle delayed as a result.

I had nausea and vomiting after pluvicto. Would last about 5 days after each dose. Anti nausea injection prior to pluvicto helped tremendously.

Get checked out and follow up with your medical team. I received three injections 4 and 6 weeks apart and they also gave me nausea medication intravenously. Never had any issues each treatment.

My docs gave me Zofran but I have found that for light nausea Ginger Ale works well. So do chewing ginger gummies.

I just completed my 4th dose of Pluvicto and was nauseous for a week after each dose. The third dose was the worst, was nauseous for 2 weeks after and had dry heaves the fist 2 days. I got a prescription for generic Zofran which helps. I also found that Enterade (2 bottles per day before meals) helps protect the lining if the stomach and reduces nausea. Enterade also helped reduce nausea during chemo.

I found a bottle of Compazine from my chemo last year; I never really needed it for chemo, but I took a couple for this recent belt of vomiting and nausea, and it did OK.
