My dad received his second infusion of pluvicto on February 14. About a week ago his hemoglobin dropped to 65. After a unit of blood it went up to around 85 and then every 3 days or so it drops back down the high 60’s. My dad does have prostrate cancer in his bones and lymph nodes. My question is will the pluvicto eventually leave the bones and will he be able to produce red blood cells on his own? If so how long will it take? Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Thank you

I had 5 pluvicto treatments and my hemoglobin and other blood components (platelets, white blood cells, etc.) did drop. About 3 months after the final pluvicto infusion these components started to make a comeback, but this was only based only on one test. I'm waiting for a another test May 1 to see where they are. I had a relatively low metastatic burden and was otherwise in good health so they didn't drop drastically, but they did drop noticeably and on at least the one test they did make a distinct recovery.
I had my second Pluvicto treatment on 29 Feb. I started the first cycle with a hemoglobin of 10. Dropped down into the low 8s by week 3. Second cycle started at 9.6 and after some negotiation RO went forward with an 80% dose. I get a weekly injection of epotin alpha, brand name Procrit as supportive care. Which usually can get me back to mid to high 9s. Hemoglobin see saws up and down - for me goal is just to stay in treatment range.
