Enzalutimide and Amolidipine

Hi back again and you have heard it before but this time something new has been found which l wanted to share

Wrote after Xmas re husband being on 160mg as 2nd add on to Adt due to CRPC . 12 Weeks in and Blood Pressure went off the wall, we were given a prescription of 5mg Amolidipine which did nothing, so we decided to drop 1 Enza due to throbbing headaches and double upto 10mg Amo, ( due to holidays we were relying on on call Oncologists, whom agreed with our changes) Now as we wanted to get back on the full dosage of Enza we introduced the 1 pill again but had to add a further 5mg Amo to help bring BP down however this is still not performing as one would expect blood pressure erratic with basically no exertion of energy.

So here goes, on doing some research we found that there is an interaction with Enza and Amolodipine which causes Amolidipine to not work effectively. We are now having a conversation with GP to change to Candersarten which is a calcium blocker also but does not have an interaction with Enza. Anyone using Enza and Candersarten as a matter of interest.

Thanks Guys

I just started taking Amlodipine in addition to Lisinopril to lower my BP . My BP is erratic 170/95 to 122/73. I am on Abiraterone and prednisone as well as Lupron.

My husband had perfect bp before Abi. Then , after taking Abi for about 1.5 years, his bp would rise very high and tank very low. We had wondered about seeing an endocrinologist but he is on vacation from Abi right now and bp seems fine

I was on ADT - lupron and enza and had some issues with losartan and amlodipine (capillary dilation and minor blood spots in legs). Switched to Losartan and hydrochlorthiazide. Very good BP control and I am still on it a year after ADT completed. Cardiologist handled this.
