My Dad (now 65 yrs age) was diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer in November 2019.
Stage T3bN1M0 Gleason Score 8, Few pelvic nodes involved
Avoided Radical Prostectomy
We finished with VMAT radiation therapy on 14 Feb. 2020. Therapy details as follows-
1. Prostate + Seminal Vesicles - 68 Gy / 25 fractions / 5 weeks
2. Pelvic Lymphatics - 44 Gy / 20 Fractions / 4 weeks.
Furthermore, we have given 10 shots of Lupride 22.5 mg - 3 month depot (ADT) from 18-11-2019
He was on ADT holidays starting from 16 May 2022.
PSA rose from 0.156 to 2.1 after 6 months of ADT holidays due to which Dr suggested of PSMA PET SCAN
PSMA Scan showed new lesion on right femur bone. (Dad had no pain in that area)
Hence, Orchidectomy was done on 15 November 2022
Now, He is taking SBRT radiation -5 fractions to lesion on femur bone.
Furthermore, Doctor would be starting Tab Arbiraterone(Zytiga) post Radiation.
Other medications that are ongoing are-
1. Tab Alfoo - (0-0-1 )For Urine Flow
2. Tab Thyronorm 100 ucg - (1-0-0 ) For Hypothyroidism
Also, he walks 5 km daily.
Is there anything else that needs to done to slow the overall progression of disease?
What can be done to decrease side effects of Orchidectomy on Bone density ?
Thanks in advance
