Update on Daddy-O

I want to thank everyone who gave me advice and encouragement regarding my dad's increasing PSA (which was compounded by possible complications from his brain cancer and heart issues).

We went to the oncologist and he determined that he wanted to wait a bit longer before acting due to the fact that dad's PSA doubling time is +18 months. He said that he would like the next course of action to be Pluvicto but he'd like my dad to have a bit more time to rebound from the chemotherapy that he received earlier this year for his brain cancer. Dad's labs are looking good, but he wanted some of his counts to increase if they can.

Additionally, his testosterone isn't increasing, so that was encouraging.

So, the plan is to retest in December and if we're still seeing an upward movement to move forward with the PSMA scan and Pluvicto.

Dad has a brain MRI in November, so we'll have a better sense of his brain cancer status. As it is, the brain cancer is much more aggressive and dangerous than his prostate cancer appears to be (at this point), so we are going to see what the scan indicates. If further treatment is needed for the brain cancer then we'll prioritize it. It's not a good scenario, but unfortunately it's the hands we've been dealt.

Thanks again for the support. You guys are awesome.

Doubling time of 18mo. is slow.... mine got as low as 8 days. Last few PSADT has been from 8 days to 60 days. Treat the brain tumor as the priority.

Thank you! Yes, his cancer doesn't seem very ambitious at this point. I'm hoping it stays that way! Good bless!
