Incontinence Clamps

I recently posted a question regarding AUS surgery and I want to thank all of you who replied to my post. Before I fly back to America to have this surgery performed I have been wondering how many of you are using clamps? From what I've read the Cunningham clamp appears to be one of the more popular ones; however, it's ridiculously priced, plus the size and shape is grotesque. Have any of you ever tried the Lunderg, Wiesner, or others?

Grumpy has tried them all and preferred the cunningham, size medium. I found a similar foam and was able to rehab the units for reuse. The original foam wears after awhile and the clamp becomes less effective.

Currently, he only uses the clamp to stop dribbles as he gets in and out of the shower after my complaining of all the pee he leaves on the floor for me to clean up.

He wore the clamp for several years but I just can't seem to reignite his desire to keep using it. So we are going through lots of diapers and pads.

Yes I used fairly often if out and about for about a year before sling surgery. White plastic with red foam, called Dribblestop. Found it good if walking or standing for a while. Used both with and without pads.

Thank you for your reply! How is the 'sling' working out for you? My understanding is that it is a much simpler operation.

I used one for a short time before getting the AUS. It seemed like a good idea-for about a week.

It got to be too uncomfortable almost right away. I think maybe if you’re only somewhat active it might be ok, but I’m a athlete so it just had no chance for me.

I’ve read about a few guys being very pleased, but I can’t imagine how. Same for self catheter. It baffles me, but we’re all different of course.

Thank you London for the update. I have never used one, but especially the Cunningham one looks terribly uncomfortable.

I am currently using the Weisner clamp while under going radiation therapy. It is fairly comfortable and works well plus all plastic so it doesn't set off the airport scanners and I can wear it while getting my radiation.

Thank you Bro for the endorsement.

I have a collection of clamps. Started with Cunningham but it was large and cumbersome. Also complicated to adjust. Current go-to clamp is the Lunderg. Often 100% effective but can actually break in use. Weisner is similar, doesn't break but less reliable leak wise. I also use the p-p stop (old name I think)... really compact and comfortable but somehow only effective for me until afternoon, then leaky (who can explain).

Thank you Bro for your reply! I have read that the Lunderg is one of the more efficient ones.
