GOOD NEWS ON XTANDI

Just been for my 3-monthly blood check and felt I should share the good news. I had predicted a PSA = 0.15 and it came in as 0.14.

What does this mean?? - well when I can predict so closely I think it means the downgoing curve is stable - not much noise (random variations) even though we are close to undetectable. (see the curve below).

If anything the downgoing trend has slightly intensified in the last 6 months. So what have I done different??? The biggest change is that I have gone from 160mg/day of Xtandi to 120mg/day. The first 3 months without the knowledge of my oncologist, and the second 3 months with the blessing of the oncologist. I have returned to a stricter implementation of my diet in the last 3 months - not much effect there (Weight dropped from 72kg to 68kg). I will go to 80mg Xtandi/day for the next 3 months and see what happens - after that we are into undetectable and I cannot do these one man experiments. Good luck to all my fellow warriors!!

Congrats. Feels good, doesn’t it. Celebrate the Wins !2questions:

1) what are the yellow dots above the blue line?

2) I have my PSA & T level on graph paper. Where did you find your online chart?

Thanks, Mike

The yellow dots are to mark major events in treatment - the scale on the left is PSA, and date along the bottom. The first two dots at top left are start of ADT and start of chemo (at PSA=1000). PSA came down to below 100 when I finished chemo. the dot at 10 denotes the start of a new tumour which is castrate resistant - to be followed by starting Xtandi. the last dot depicts the start of my trial of reducing the dosage of Xtandi from 160 to 120mg.

Sorry I forgot the second question. The chart is made in simple excel using a log scale for PSA - much easier than graph paper!!
