Inhibitory Effect of Beet Extract on Cancer Cell Proliferation

The purpose of this study was to examine the inhibition of human cancer cell proliferation by using various concentrations of Beet Extract containing various bioactive ingredients. The six cancer cell lines used in the experiment were prostate cancer cells DU-145, lung cancer cells A549, breast cancer cells MCF-7, cervical cancer cells HeLa, liver cancer cells SNU-182, and biliary tract cancer cells SNU-1196. Human-derived cancer cell lines were used. The inhibition of cancer cell proliferation at various concentrations of Beet Extract was measured by the CCK-8 method. As a result of examining the inhibition of cancer cell proliferation, Beet Extract significantly and concentration-dependently inhibited DU145 of prostate cancer cells at all concentrations, and Lung cancer cells A549 and DU-145 of prostate cancer cells at 100ug/mL and 1000ug/mL, cervical cancer cells HeLa, and liver cancer cells SNU-182, biliary tract cancer cell SNU-1196 showed significant proliferation inhibition at 1000ug/mL. Experiment result, the cancer cell proliferation inhibitory mechanisms of Beet Extract using various human-derived cancer cell lines can be considered to provide cancer prevention effects and the possibility of developing functional foods.

How hard can it be to add beets to your diet.

I've used beet powder in water at lunch to help with my hypertension.The PCa had invaded the L ureter lymph node chain, compressing the urine flow. This caused scarring in the L kidney due to the back pressure and led to High BP.

Glad to see that maybe it has actions

Did u get PSMA pet scan how did u know Pca invaded the l ureter lymph node, Also what have the BP readings ranged and how much did you take to get a new level.Explain the back pressure and scarring was it stiffness or pain on either or both sides , what scans determined this. How many times a day is normal to urinate what level and times during day or night volume was urine flow.

No, back in 2015 the SoC was an FDG based scan. I've had Axumin scans since then and am awaiting a Kaiser okay for a PSMA.

Here is the entry from 1/12/2015. "CT abdomen and pelvis. Markedly enlarged prostate gland measuring 5.7 x 6 cm with a probably 3.8 x 2.1 cm left presacral/common iliac chain lymph node probably metastatic. Marked bilateral hydroureteronephrosis with transition point in the urinary bladder. 3mm lung nodule."

My BP readings were around 150/95 or so. Was on Lisinopril, but that may have caused hyperkalemia (too high Potassium) and meds were switched to Atenelol and Amlodipine.

When the PCa invaded the lymph nodes it compressed the ureter and that caused fluid pressure in the L kidney which led to pressure atrophy the destruction of cells in the kidney. That is what the hydroureteronephrosis was: dilatation of the renal pelvis, calyces and ureter caused by the obstruction to free flow of urine from the kidney, leading to progressive atrophy of the renal cortex. Had no symptoms at all.

My urologist placed stents in both ureters to keep them patent (opened) and swapped them out 6 months later. Subsequent Creatinine and GFR #s showed that levels had returned to normal.

Since I've been fasting and sipping on homemade broth, I have to pee a bunch thru the day. I still have light beers, so overnight urination has also gone up

Can anyone translate 1000ug/mL to a mg amount that we can target? Tried to google but only get MG/ml.

There's no mention of testing in human trial so assuming this is in vitro. Also I don't know what the heck "containing various bioactive ingredients"means. Bottom line is you can pretty much use most anything to kill cancer in a Petri dish. Not dissing the study, just not enough information in my very very humble opinion.
