Urethral Stricture new treatment - Optilume

This may be of interest for those with urethral stricture issue.

Recently FDA approved, Optilume is DCB (drug coated balloon) treatment of anterior urethral stricture.

The balloon is coated with Paclitaxel, so I do not know if that will interfere with prostate cancer treatments or not.

It has not really been tried with RT induced urethral stricture though.

For people like me with RT induced membranous urethral stricture that was treated once with DVIU and the stricture is now back after three years, I am looking into a less invasive treatment (vs. urethroplasty).

Since it is new (approved Dec 2021 by FDA). I found a handful of videos on Youtube and few articles on the internet.

If you have info on Optilume, please share.

Thanks,

Akai
