Hmm... I guess you know by now, that I post offbeat, off topic and basically irrelevant Crap!! However...

"Darling Wife" of now 48 tears! (I meant years!!)" and I, have rescued another little Tabby cat ( after the untimely passing of "Tiger Lily".)🐱

During my treatments, Lily, was always waiting and soothing when I returned.

Point of this post? (and I know that its redundant).

If you are able, RESCUE a little critter and make it part of your healing process, It might just help.

I realize that this is theoretical, anecdotal, however, accepted by many .πŸ€”

I wish all of you the best,

AJ

Coming from one of β€œ the fortunate ones β€œ ….I’ll take that as a compliment. Yayahahahaya. I think I need a big huggy ole slobbery dog or a nice purrrring kitty …. We’ve got pebble tech floors here , unless I want to buy a big power steamer truck, pets are out of the question, unfortunately. We used to have tiny teacup poodles , both of them died of old age in my arms. They were smaller than most cats.

get some more Poodles of any size they are all great dogs. I prefer the big ones. We have a new puppy who is looking like he will be the size of a Great Dane. more to cuddle but I I couldn't have Standards,Mini or Toy would do.

Yep I agree , I’d love to get them again. Pebble tech floors tho … have to change to tile or wood first. Prolly not going to be around long enough to make that change in the house. Prolly not be anyone left here after I’m gone as well.

I got fancy dogs and have trained them fairly well because I want them to be easy to re-home when I am gone. Will have to bathe and clip them and there will be people willing to take them. The old girl is a such a sweetie that it should be no problem and they new guy is absolutely gorgeous. Wish I could take them with me.

It weird the stuff we have to think about and take care of ..huh ? I guess it keeps us busy and gives us a sense of closure of sorts.

Funny that you mentioned Great Dane's!

My family had one (during my adolescence) and "Stony" was almost 6 feet, standing on hind legs.

He was a very gentle pooch, with a big heart to match.

Thanks!

I guess he had one of those wonderful coats that looks like marble?

westof profile image
westof in reply to spencoid2

Nope, all fawn.

He came with bandages on his ears (cropped to make them stand up)

Cruel practice, leave em floppy!

AJ, had my 16 yr old little dog keep herself together long enough for me to get home from my RP surgery. Ended up taking her to the vet for the last time with my fresh catheter bag strapped to my leg. I know she waited for me. The little fellow (85 lbs) we adopted when she was gone has kept me moving (and loved) for the last 11 years. Probably the best non prescription medicine there is!!

My rescue cat was supposed to be him but it was me, he is the one who I held with tears when I learned of my cancer diagnose was known. He is my black angel with paws and a purr that is very comforting. You need a pet to hold and love with this disease, they give so much but ask so little.

Our dog Beau knew before I did that I have this condition. He also knew that our grandson had diabetes type 1. An amazing friend.
