Is a call from your oncologist on Sunday morning ever good news??

Two months in a row now, as results come in, I have received a call from my oncologist on Sunday. PSA up another 33%- Alk/phos highest in 4 years--A steady climb for both for the last 4 months. Another blood test next month and meeting face to face to discuss where we go from here. Wish me luck.

Best wishes to all my brothers here.

Doug

Well at least he is touching base directly and has more time to discuss options and not rushed as on the week day. I usually see a PA when everything is going well and then I see an appointment with the doc and think Oh Sh*t! But last week it was good. Hope you find a treatment that you respond to well. Good luck and happy spring.

Are you still on two Xtandi pills?

Yes, until something better comes along.. Next scans may show something to address.

Hoping for a turn. I’m on 4 Xtandi at 40 mg. Just started after chemo. $$$$ insurance pays but it’s scary to me.

Any thoughts on bumping up Xtandi dose to see if there is any effect? I’m was on 2, had been for a couple of years until recently when PSA became detectable again. I bumped it up to 3 to see if it helps, MO said to leave at 2 but I’m doing a little experiment on myself. My last PSA after being on 3 for about 3 weeks was stable actually slightly lower, we’ll see what the next test brings in a week or so after almost 2 months at 3 pills. I’ve been on Xtandi for almost 6 years now, started at 4 and reduced to 2 a couple years ago.

Good luck. I just wanted to let you know I got a call from my uro on a Saturday night. I was in a restaurant with friends. There I was running for the door cell phone in hand.

Sorry about the phone call timing, Shooter, and the possible bad news that came with it. You've already had so much treatment, dang it. Keep us in the loop about what's next.

Doctor was bored and didn't have anything to do.... so he called you.... Take it easy and humor him by taking his call.....

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Wow I feel for you. I just did a ct scan on Saturday and I figure if it was bad I would hear by now. This is 6 months after I had a good ct and 3 months after a good ultrasound so I’m praying my meet up with the oncologist this Thursday is good and they draw my psa.

Hey, I can't give up. I still have 6 years to go on my 10 year plan. Wouldn't want to waste the time I'm supposed to enjoy my rebuilt thumb, orchiectomy, left little finger surgical repair and all the new skin on my right arm (skin grafts). +++my new grandson from my dead son. Life is still good!!\

Doug

PS --All prayers welcome,Thanks

Any update on you shooter..... how are you doing?????

Well, today I got full report form ctc and cdna testing.. Only 0.48% mutations in my tumor cells and nothing actionable. Not good news, but not bad news either. Axium scan this Thursday and blood tests and meeting with MO on 7th and 8th. Hope to know a lot more then. Stay tuned, I will be posting as I find out. Got steroid injection today in left hand for bone to bone pain in wrist. It helps for 6 weeks to 3 mo.. Can fuse bones, but recovery time is long and I've already had a bone pulled out and a joint built with a tendon "harvested" from my fore arm. Haven't decided if surgery fits into my 5 1/2 year plan. For now life is good.

PS> Last PSA up another 84%. Nice steep curve I've got going there.
