After Dr. Myers retired he referred me to another practice. The doc I was seeing (who I was very satisfied with), has just departed. Do any previous Snuffy patient's have referral recommendations with a similar philosophy? Or at least will work with my current protocol and philosophy.
Thanks

I would like to know one too ! Jim Brisk , Dr. Myers sent him to Drs. Stolotz and Lam in Marina Del Rey . He sent me to a doctor whose first name was Philip in Mason Ohio that Dr. Myers said he had trained . But when I had my appointment with him he said Dr. Myers said I was doing good . So no need for me to drive to Mason , Ohio when I could just go to the Ohio State James Cancer Center which I am currently a patient . But I feel like I'm at the same point back in 2007 looking for a doctor who thinks outside the box and can do treatments that they can't in a hospital setting .
He worked for Christ the King hospitals at various locations around Cincinnati . The one in Mason was just a chemotherapy center . Everyone having a port and getting chemo .
I miss Dr Myers. My takeaway after being under his care before he retired was use of white cell boosters with major therapy. Currently doing cabazataxel with Zarxio. Getting good results and preventing infection. Doing my last round today.
He was also a fan of combination drugs. For a while I added Carboplatin, but had to stop it because blood counts dropped too much. For the 2 cycles I combined cabaxataxel with Carboplatin, PSA cut in half each time.
That is somewhat true regarding treatment options. I daresay that his lifestyle and supplement approaches are probably still not standard of care and they are very beneficial. And as he said to me during my last visit, "you need to pay attention to new research coming out to see if my question any of the current information available."
I had a appointment with Dr, Sartor when he was on the east coast . But by the time I actually got is confirmed he was off to Tulane and I decided on Snuffy January 08 .
Thanks. He has a good reputation. Do you get the time like you would with Dr. Myers?
I have the same question for someone like me who lives in the Phoenix Metro area. I'm afraid that MAYO and maybe CTCA are inclined to stay in their lane in terms of standard of care orthodoxy. My current urologist offers by the book SOC.
Myers referred me to Charles Drake at Columbia-Presby in NYC. After my first two or three visits I was not sure he was right. I visited Prostate Oncology Specialists in Marina del Rey for a consultation. They said what I was doing was the same as they would suggest. I recall that Dr. Turner there said the a majority of their patients were not castrate resistant. Some level of monitoring, watch and wait, surveillance before and after treatments(s), and on treatment with ADT of one kind or another. I asked the same question of Drake and the majority of patients at his location were castrate resistant. My relationship improved over time with Drake and I also decided I wanted to be cared for based on where I will be, and not where I am as a non resistant patient. I also have a local MO who is comfortable consulting and advising and writing Rx for statin and other milder ad-on treatment. I could resume care in California if I choose.
