They are saying I need to sign a consent form, give a blood or saliva sample and I’ll learn more next week. Apparently certain gene mutations and DNA repair defects have prognostic effects, I want to know what those mutations are.
If eligible ? Go for it! There is much hope in test ..I’m on a test drug that has helped to keep me clear for five years now . Although it failed ,and the test was halted ,somehow it’s worked for me . Keep the faith 😷✌️
PCR0002 is a survey of relevant mutations in PCA patients. Yes, do it, no downside, its just a blood test. I think if you score a BRCA then you may be invited to the Magnitude phase3 trial of abi+pred+niraparib (a Janssen drug). I am just starting the further screening for this after scoring the winning mutation. I have been told (by head researcher at SAN hospital, Sydney) that I will get the active drug, not the placebo and the blind has been lifted. It was previously a randomised blind placebo trial against placebo of abi+pred where 50% did not get the niraparib.
