I searched the site here but did not see any references to Black Cumin Seed. It seems to be something of a hot topic in cancer research. I am completely unqualified to review, and understand about 100th of what is presented in the following linked-to articles. I know there are others here who can speak to this research. Many thanks and Happy Holidays.

We did discuss Black seed oil and thymoquinol in past but briefly only. Black seed oil works like a zinc ionophore and by itself has anti cancer properties. I am taking the powdered black seeds in fruit smoothies daily for last 2 months. See pjoshea and Nalakrats discussion below:

There was a discussion about a month ago. Search for "nigella sativa".

Endorsing something on a cancer forum is fraught with danger as everyone's situation is unique. If something goes wrong after what was endorsed.. blame can come to us. This is the reason most doctors avoid talking about non-soc interventions. But I am convinced after reading 15+ studies that Nigella Sativa should be part of our anti cancer diet just like turmeric, Ginger, Tea, onions, garlic, Red Grapes, cauliflower, radishes, cabbage ,red tomatoes and so on. I am not prescribing Nigella.. but it is on my own plate of foods.

Lastly, I have fond memories of my Grandmother who used to put nigella seeds in Mango and chilli pickles in oil and install filled , shiny glass jars in balcony. She called it "kalonji"

I am using it daily (for a few months now) and will continue to do so.

It is part of my supplement plan. I have a list of about 9 different 'compounds' elements or concoctions in the mix.

It took me awhile to 'get there' - but I have no digestive issues (with the MIX) and I'm feeling MUCH better now, as compared to where I was, even a year ago..

I go for the conventional and the non-conventional - so far so good - although I still have PCa and I'm not expecting any miracles.

I just believe that it is part of the toolbox we can choose, to fight back ......

Hey wstein25!

In the morning, as part of my routine, I take two tablespoons of cold pressed, organic black seed oil. I started taking one teaspoon four years ago, went to a tablespoon and increased to two tablespoons over the last year. It is an acquired taste. I have been taking black seed oil for four years after it was recommended by a beautiful young lady with brown skin who I remember as my "Brown Angel". I have not experienced any ill effects. I also did quite a bit of reviewing about black seed oil before taking it. We make our own choices.

Were the increases in usage the result of measured benefits, taste, or what (if I may ask)?

I use it like pepper in a pepper grinder on my food along with black pepper (separate grinders). It's tasty and healthy.

Nal - thanks for distilling (couldn't resist the pun) these technical papers for me. Has anyone on this site proposed, for those of us pursuing alternatives, cataloging all the various supplements, diets, other lifestyle factors and etc, and of course disease progression (hopefully not). I am imagining a large spreadsheet, participants in the columns, lifestyle choices in the rows, each cell could be "dosage" or outcome. I guess we could use a google spreadsheet that we all would have access to. There must be a way to address privacy concerns. BTW, is there a way to respond to all, as I received 11 (and counting) replies.
