Hi All,

I hope this message finds you all well.

A few weeks/months ago, I read a post regarding "adding/taking testosterone" to their PC treatment plan. One gentleman was listed in Miami and I believe working through the Sylvester Group. We have a wonderful new Dr. we are currently working with who is considering adding testosterone for my husband as part of his Neuroendocrine PC. I tried searching for this old post but could not find the info. Can anyone shed their experience, information or possibly remember which members may have posted in regards to adding testosterone into their treatment plan. Also, any others with Neuroendocrine PC doing "well" and have any experience in their treatment plan they would like to share? We see our Dr. next week and I wanted to share with possible info from this group. Kind regards, Brenda and Tony (Gunner's Home)

I suggest you get a second opinion from Misha Beltran at Dana Farber. She is THE world expert on NEPC. She is about to start a trial of a new DLL3 targeted therapy. DLL3 is the hot new target for NEPC:

prostatecancer.news/2016/12...

Most "NEPC" is a mixed type (both NEPC and adenocarcinoma cells are present), and while there is no possibility that the NEPC will respond to testosterone (NEPC lacks an androgen receptor entirely), it may make the adenocarcinoma cells more sensitive as part of a BAT protocol - or it may make that part of the cancer grow faster. It is a BIG risk. I'm not saying don't do it; I'm just saying it is important that you understand the risk.
