Finding a doc
What kind of doc? MO, RO, Uro? (What is your situation?) Does it have to be USC or are other LA hospitals OK?
Have multiple tumors in lower pelvic area (lymph nodes)Gleason 8 stage 4 PSA .008 down from over 100. Currently on Lupron and half dose of Xtandi due to side effects when taking full dose. Looking for MO.
Any LA hospital OK...
Much Thanks!!
I very much like Edwin Posadas at Cedars-Sinai. Also, Tanya Dorff at COH and Matthew Rettig at UCLA are excellent. I've heard positive comments about Mitchell Gross at USC, but I've never personally met him. I have a preference for using a major teaching hospital where the other resources are all close at hand over a stand-alone facility like Prostate Oncology Specialists (Scholz/Lam/Turner), although those doctors are fine too. I've found that the better-connected the doctor, the more readily they tap into the specialized knowledge of their colleagues around the world - Posadas has been excellent at doing that.
What's your age and where are you currently being treated (and doctor's name(s)). When were you diagnosed??? All info is voluntary but it helps us help you and helps us too. Thank you!!!
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Our doc in Seattle recommended all you suggested!!!! Her name is Dr Cheng. If anyone needs the best in Seattle, she is it!
Thanks again!
I prefer prostate oncology specialists. They are more willing to think a little out of the box where most major teaching hospitals seen committed to SOC. I go to ucla for second opinions and they are great but they always say “that approach seems logical but until there is proof via a clinical trial we can’t recommend” . For some that is a positive but not for me. A great example is prostate oncology specialists were using early zytega with ADT long before the Lattitude and Stampede trials proved it reduced deaths by some 40%.
