For what it's worth, I selected CCW702 as one of the 25 Future drug developments that could change the therapeutic landscape for advanced PCa in coming years for inclusion in my new 3rd Edition prostate cancer book.
I looked at a very large number of candidates before selecting the 25 most promising. However, a word of caution: many of the drugs selected may fall by the wayside down the track, but some are likely to go on to be mega.
In recent times, I have had a close 'encounter' with one of the 25 drugs selected, and I am confident that it will become a significant therapy within probably 2-3 years.
Some of the drugs I looked at had significant published data available, others had lesser data, but were considered to 'offer a new approach'.
Alan, When will your new book be available? I just looked on Amazon and don't see it.
I am so very sorry about what happened with your brother and can only imagine what a nightmare it was for you and your family, dealing with the doctors who wouldn't support you. Unbelievable!! If you buy a copy, and after reading it, I would appreciate you submitting a reader review to Amazon. It is suffering from lack of reviews. Its earlier versions were almost always on the first search page under 'Prostate Cancer Books'. Sadly for the moment it is a little 'back in the pack', even I can assure you there is NO comparable book available on PCa.
You were excited about Veyonda ..... do you know if it can work for bone marrow metastases? I've only seen it being used with radiation. My husband developed bone marrow failure 2-1/2 months ago while on Xofigo. He's been getting transfusions since then, and a month ago he started Darolutamide, but last week he suddenly became almost completely incapacitated after developing asthenia, which is a top side possible side effect of Darolutamide. So 2 days ago he stopped taking it, to see if he improves.
We're now in a VERY scary desperate situation. I'm wondering if Veyonda may work for him and even if it could, I wonder if it's even possible to get it for him.
btw, further research is telling me bone marrow failure while on Xofigo is much more common than patients are lead to believe!!!
I don't understand why you can't find the 3rd Edition book. I just checked. Type in Prostate Cancer books in the search panel of amazon.com. It comes up on the second page.
Yes, I am excited about Veyonda as a monotherapy or together with SBRT. The manufacturer Noxopharm have data of their DAART1 trial. This was on men with late stage PCa. I am virtually certain that come of the small number of men in the trial, would have had a compromised bone marrow.
I have seen detailed medical records of a senior executive of NOX, who was in dire straights with late stage PCa. He had serious spinal compression and was partially paralysed. After Veyonda his health has recovered and looks to be in long term remission. Unfortunately, I am unable to share this data as it was given to me solely to try to convince my late brother's MO team to approve him for compassionate use of Veyonda. This they failed to do with obvious fatal consequences for my brother. This is not to say my brother would have responded as per the NOX executive as patient response is, as we know, is very variable.
Why not contact the company? I know that they have responded to a number of people I know.
