Very happy news for my dad and us this week. As he waited for his oncology appointment his PSA went from 22 to 60 in one month (oncologist being on vacation, which is frustrating that they don't appear urgently treating). Once we finally got in for the appointment we discussed the choice between Enzalutamide and Abiraterone+ Prednisone and how it is difficult to select which patients are better suited for which drug. We basically came to the conclusion for him to go on Enzalutamide since he has HTN and severe white coat syndrome! 3 weeks on Enzalutamide PSA dropped like a stone to 1.8! He had imaging for baseline measures but only 4 days after starting Xtandi so not a true representation of how effective the drug might be. Just thought I would share the win for the week. The oncologist said his immediate response is a very good thing and means his cancer is still testosterone sensitive and hopefully he can respond for a while! He will have a follow-up in 5 weeks. This journey is full of peaks and valleys!

You called it. The win of the week. Hope the Xtandi works a long time. 23 months for me. (Extensive bone mets). A lot longer for others. It all depends. Wishing you well.
