Most men I know who use them bought them off the shelf at an adult store or on-line. It's a LOT less expensive than the medical supply devices. Guys who use them tell me they have to trim some pubes to get a good vacuum seal.

I have an inexpensive ($100 from Allegro Medical). For me, not a good investment. Some of us who bought and tried the pumps experienced pain and lack of erection. I swear by Trimix for penile rehab as well as excellent sex with my wife.

I got mine from Amazon and it worked fine, nothing fancy and I think under $30.00. At the start of this journey I had my prostate removed at Cleveland Clinic and a pump is actually part of the rehab. Just a head up (no pun intended) it looks like something that will be fun to use but it is actually very uncomfortable.
I would recommend a product line called ENCORE that is available on the web.
That is a medical grade version - note that the sex shop varieties do not have proper tension systems. The unit (call it deluxe) has a RING injection system, meaning it is setup to maximize the seal when the cylinder is removed.
Then there's something to learn about tension systems - in this case, size does matter.
You'll need to experiment somewhat to get the right tension to 'seal the deal'. Some guidelines are available for sizing, but you won't know until you try to maintain the erection in an intimate situation (intercourse for instance).
IF you look at penile rehabs information, you will get some methodology to try to recover / maintain functionality.
In my case, I have moved onto 'trimix' as my solution.
You could combine the two (if needed if the trimix isn't working 'fully').

I've learned that there are 'combo' remedies available - don't give up - something will work !

I received one after my RP as part of rehab treatment plan and my insurance paid for it. Fortunately I never really needed it but I saw the rep demonstrate it and it seems like it works well
All are pretty much the same. I went to the local sex shop where the staff were very helpful. Cost ranges from $30 - $60. If you go to a surgical supply house for a "medical device" you can pay a lot more. A gel lube on the rim and trimmed pubic hair assure a good seal. Depending on anatomy, some precautions may be needed to avoid pulling a testicle into the tube. That hurts. One device also has a sleeve that releases an elastic ring around the penis to maintain the erection.
You can buy them on eBay for around $12. You don't need the Super Mega Guaranteed Man Maker for $79.95. LOL. A basic pump is good enough. I suggest the time to use it is when taking a shower or bath. i.e. 15 minutes a day. For prostate cancer guys, its great for promoting blood flow to the penis. When on hormone therapy a mans penis will tend to shrink some. Men obviously hate that. My PC is not aggressive, but regardless hormone therapy goes against the grain on men. I have dealt with Prostate Cancer since 2012. I have tried many remedies. I finally found a formula that works for me. I have not taken any medical treatments for PC since July 2015. I just seen my PC Doc. and he told me to doing what I am doing. I did Lupron and hated it. It was 6 months of hell for me. Never again. It's such a bad side effect for men that they question you at times if your suicidal. I am guessing here but assume your asking because of function. Not knowing if he had his prostate removed or not, you will buy a pump that comes with the penis rings. Wanted to give you a detailed reply and hope this helps. Good luck
My experience is similar to the reply from RonnyBaby: I bought a manual system from Encore via Amazon (scurry 2 Pack Collapsible... amazon.com/dp/B00RR5PVO6?re..., which has worked fairly well for 5 months; however, lately the pump doesn’t seem to work as effectively as when it was new, so I’ll be checking the warranty.
The medical group from which I’e gotten all of my care so far (MRI, biopsy, robot-assisted prostatectomy, treatment for ED, etc.) arranged for a session with a representative from Timm for their PTV and Osborn systems. She agreed that they would submit to my insurance the Osborn ErecAid Classic ($159), which appeared good enough for me. However, they ended up replying ~2 weeks later to tell me that the only device they would submit to insurance was the ~$299 system with battery-powered pump. I was especially irritated that their delay in replying to me was delaying start of its use, so I searched the web and Amazon and settled on the one described above. I’m getting toward the deadline, but still plan to submit the expense to insurance, which should pay for it because it was prescribed. Your husband’s insurance might pay for it.
We are also using TriMix injections successfully. However, the recommendation for use of the VED is daily, in order to avoid loss of elasticity, and the recommended frequency for TriMix that I received is no more than 3 times per week, and also no more than once every 2 days, Being fearful of loss of elasticity (which I believe is what made use of the VED somewhat painful the first week or so, and mindful that the VED is supposed to take the place of nocturnal erections, I am continuing to use the VED daily until & unless nocturnal erections resume, except I take the morning off the day after using TriMix.
Also, I’ve found that I can multi-task, shaving or flossing & brushing my teeth during VED therapy. That also helped alleviate my wife’s concern that I might be enjoying the VED therapy.

I recommend tri-mix. I have read the pump can do damage and gives poor results in terms of erections. My husband uses the tri-mix injection and although he was freaked out at first he’s used to it and it works. Get a prescription from your doctor and go online to the sexual health store and buy an autoinjector. It will take a few tries before he is relaxed enough and you both get over the weirdness of having to inject but it’s well worth the trouble. Ince that thing gets big and you guys get to really do it, he’ll be happy! I do the injection for my husband. We’ve got it down to a quick routine. It’s a new way of life. Embrace it. It may be hard for him to accept the idea of a needle in his penis but it does not hurt. Send me a direct message if you need more advice. Good luck. Also, he can use the injection without intercourses just to get the blood flowing.
