My Doctor said that one of the side effects of Lutetium treatment can be gout. Has anyone had this happen to them ? Does drinking lots of water help prevent it happening?

lutetium treatment and gout?
I have just begun the Lu-177 treatment and I was told by the MO's to drink plenty of water. As of today (9 days have passed since the first treatment), I have absolutely no symptoms of GOUT.
Gout, itself, is a build-up of painful precipitated uric acid crystals in joints, .... classically in a big toe joint, per the old movies. Technical term is Hyperuricemia. One might watch the uric acid levels during treatment blood test for any trends. Supposedly, not everyone in normal life who has hyperuricemia gets gout symptoms. For those who may have a tendency toward gout, the avoidance of alcohol and sugary drinks or things with lots of high fructose corn syrup might also help. Keto diets might not be a good idea while being treated, either. The Prescribing Information for Lu-177 definitely does instruct patients to drink plenty of water as part of helping to protect the kidneys during treatment.
No side effects of any kind after 3 treatments for my husband. He drinks lots of water, juices and drinks a shot of aloe vera juice every day.
Ellyras,
I just had my sixth LU 117 injection yesterday so I’ve been on LU177 for 8 months and while I have not had gout my Uric acid levels are elevated. I do drink about 4 liters of water a day and was on Alpurlinol and that will lower you uric acid
