Zytiga looks like it’s skowly stopped working, my dad was on it for a good year and a half his PSA is slowly rising last month it was .46 this month .68 I don’t know what the doctor will suggest we do. This is scary and exhausting keep trying something else to fight this devil (cancer).
He is in lupron injections and had provange done but I’m wondering what else will the doctor offer.? Any thoughts or suggestions I know it worked for you I’m just trying to see what else we have to look forward to.

If you want to squeeze a little more out of zytiga--get his numbers lower---there are a couple of options---adding indomethacin, and/or--switching from prednisone to dexamethasone...
After Zytiga stops working, Xtandi may work at least for a while.
If he has bone mets, Xofigo would be a good next choice. Docetaxel is good for any kind of metastasis. If he is taking a bone strengthening agent (Zometa or Xgeva), adding Celebrex to it has been shown to increase survival by 22%.
read up on mets or whatever they call the problem (cancer) if he has been treated or not? how long the battle with it? stage 4 usually means the cancer has spread sooooooo it depends on the numbers or where it has spread, or what treatments to cutain the spreading. lots of ?s
He’s a urologist I don’t know why anyone is recommending metamorfin when it’s used for diabetes and like I said my dads been on it for a while and hasn’t really done anything for his PSA and most Doctora treating him for this cancer really don’t believe anything works only what they r taught in school or by their peers they only want to do conventional approaches
zytiga workes for prostrate cancer, metforium is for diabetics patents only. i found a better urologist then my oncologist doctor. remember u can get a second opinion. u can ask the doc why is he on metorium instead of zytiga???
Looks like I had a similar regimen. Chemo (docataxel) plus Lupron. That was good for about 2 years (that is what they predicted). Continued Lupron and added abiraterone (Zytiga) which they indicated was good for around a year. Sounds like you got more than a year out of it. Dr. said they have other options after this stops but didn't say what since there are new drugs and studies coming out. I keep kicking the can down the road but the road is narrowing!!
