In Jan 2011, my PSA was 3.4 up from 2.8 in March 2010. So my PCP referred to an urologist. I was diagnosed with Gleason 3 + 3 prostate cancer in Feb 2011. Only 2 of 12 core with 10% cancerous. In June 2011, I had brachytherapy.
My PSA dropped to 0.1 by Dec 2012 and remained around that until Dec 2014. Then it started rising: July 2015: 0.4, July 2016:1.5. A second biopsy in Aug 2016 found no cancer inside the prostate. But a large cancerous mass (40% involvement) about 1 inch in diameter emanating from the capsule.
I had ADT from Oct 2016 to Apr 2017 and cyberknife in Jan 2017. By Apr 2017, my PSA dropped to undetectable (<0.1) and stayed there until Jan 2018.
Then it started rising rather rapidly: Apr 6: 0.2, July 13: 0.9, Aug 28:1.3 with PSADT of only 1.7 months. Both bone scan and CT in August came out negative. I am scheduled for Axumin PET/CT scan on Oct 12.
Well that is the strange story of my prostate cancer that started with a Gleason 3 + 3 diagnosis.

I had my Brachytherapy in May of 2010. Have a PSA test every 6 months and it remains at 0.1
Here’s hoping that it remains at that zero mark. I have since had cancer of the pelvic ureter and had that along with my left kidney removed in early 2015, then later in 2015 developed bladder cancer. Appears that nasty stuff travelled down stream. I have a Cystoscopy every 3 months and with proper treatments (TURBTand BCG) has been cancer free so all is well so far. Good luck with yours!
Sorry to hear that you were hit by two other cancers and had a kidney removed. But happy to know that you are currently cancer free from all three cancers. And I hope it would remain so.
I hope get a definitive answer in the next two months. But with prostate cancer everything is up in the air. In 2014, when the RO who performed the brachytherapy told me that I was cancer free and he need not see me in future. My quick answer was: "You mean I am in remission". And two years later I had to start battling with my cancer.
