I chose HIFU over the radiation treatments that were recommended to me. The supra-pubic catheter is a bit of a challenge to deal with but that will be gone a few weeks after the procedure. I had a slight issue with urge incontinence immediately following catheter removal but I am fine now. I had to go out of pocket since Medicare does not yet pay for it. I'm not a doctor but I see HIFU as a precision instrument and radiation as a blunt instrument. Others may disagree. 7 months post surgery and my PSA remains undetectable.

Thank you for your info. I have been advised I do HIFO after doing TURP.

I have no idea except NHS info re side effects .

This is what convinced me of the benefits of HIFU vs other treatment options. I have no regrets so far.
