Xofigo treatment
Xofigo seems to be one of those drugs that provides excellent benefits with very minimal side effect profile for most men. The most common side effects of Xofigo include: nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, swelling of the arms or legs (peripheral edema) and low blood cell counts. However, most men do not experience any of these, or just have a minimal amount.
Besides staying on top of your blood count, if you have any bone marrow issues in your past make sure that your doctor is aware of them. Stay well hydrated and take care that you don't expose anyone in your family to some stray urine or feces. In other words, clean up after yourself!
Getting it is easy and quick. It is administered as an IV injection every 4 weeks for 6 months (for a total of 6 IV injections). Each injection will be administered over 1 minute.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
