my partner and I both do this to an extent, but it frustrates me when I can’t find something. It’s mostly about forgetting to put clean clothes away. He does usually still go through his closet instead of the basket, which helps him find clothes he hasn’t worn in a while.

The part of this that applies to me most is the idea that I wore something but it’s not yet dirty. It cannot go back in the closet or drawer but it’s not ready to wash. For these items, I have a set of hooks where I can hang clothes that I wore yesterday and will probably wear tomorrow. Basically this is an upgrade from my old ‘hang them over a chair’ option. This has been working very well for me.
