Xaggitin XL 18mg and tongue biting at night

dear all

My 14 yo daughter adhd combined / ASD started on Xaggitin XL last week. She bit her tongue very badly at both sides during the night. Now she has a badly swollen tongue and finding it difficult to eat and drink. She doesn’t think it’s happened in the night since and all additional biting has happened during the day when she has been trying to eat ?

Is this a side effect anyone has had starting on this drug ? Did you need to change the drug ? Did it settle?

I don't know anything about that drug but if this has only happened since she started this drug it sounds like a red flag. I would definitely contact her doctor

thank you for your reply. I got to the bottom of it. Unfortunately she had abused another drug. So upsetting. Thank you again.
