Things Changed yesterday.

Hi again everyone, Well Yesterday I went for my run , but halfway through something odd happened. As I said previously I only got slightly dizzy on standing from sitting and only for a second or two. But Yesterday I felt such an odd sensation of dizziness, unbalanced . Today I'm still the same . And my ear feels like it's full of cotton wool . Is this normal? Could it possibly be connected to AN or is it something else ? .

Good Morning Redington,

I was diagnosed with AN in November 2023 and went away in December to Australia but ever since I've come back my ears fill so full! I assume it's the pressure caused by the AN.

I am waiting for my next appointment on the 8th Feb as I have so many questions. I also declined to have a hearing aid, everything seemed ok then, but I am now struggling to hear people when I'm in a meeting, it also feels like I'm in a goldfish bowl!!,....so I'm thinking a hearing aid may help.

This is a great platform, but it's hard and scary to get your head around but this thing shouldn't kill us! One thing I've found, is alcohol is a NO NO, leaves my ears throbbing with noise the next day, so that's a good thing!!

Take care

Nick

Hi Nick,I totally understand the goldfish bowl feeling !! You should definitely try the hearing aids. I have heard good reviews when people use them for tinnitus as well as hearing loss. My head / ears still feeling like it's full of cotton wool . It's not going away . I hope your appointment goes well on 8th February. Take Care x

I have hearing aids thanks to the NHS and it takes awhile to get used to them and the tinny sound but they do help. I am completely out of the closet and say 'I'm deaf' and I say what alot. They do help. I asked to have my beige hearing aids upgraded to the silver ones that have blue tooth. Talking on the phone (mobile) is fabulous with blue tooth. Makes a huge difference. Good luck.

Hi again,

Sorry to hear things aren’t going so well. Since my diagnosis I’ve had a blocked feeling in my ear but I’m getting used to it and it rarely bothers me as long as I am busy.

I’ve recently had lightheaded dizzy spells but again they’ve subsided or I’ve got used to the feeling.

Comparing notes we are having similar experiences so I hope you take some solace that things might calm down for you. The key things I have learned to help manage my symptoms are to sleep well, exercise when I can and stay hydrated. The biggest impact on me is anxiety. The more anxious I am the worse my symptoms are. I’m trying to stay calm and live my life.

Sorry I have no magic answers, try to relax and hopefully things will pass or at least become more manageable. Hope you feel better soon. 🤞
