5 Years post surgery

My husband had his 4th follow up MRI since his AN surgery. As usual (knock wood) there is no sign of anything except scar tissue which is normal. He has dizziness problems, deaf in right ear and tinnitus, but he's had the tinnitus since the Viet Nam war. While it was not good to find out that he had an AN during an MRI, it was advantageous to find out he had another brain tumor (benign and small) elsewhere so they check on that during his yearly MRI reviews. So thankful for no growth there either!! The amazing doctors at University of Miami - Jackson said they got it all. MRIS seem to back up this claim. When the AN was found, he was told it was relatively small. He asked the doctor what he should do. The doctor advised that if it were him with many years of surgery to perform, he would probably wait and watch. That wasn't my husband's situation. He was 64 and approaching retirement. He reasoned that he was at a point where he was relatively young and healthy and since that would change the older he got, we decided that this was the right time. Personal decision, but we are happy with it!

Sounds like you made the right decision. Most of us I believe have tinnitus and bad balance still after many years. We automatically adapt I guess. X
