Yes, I had EMDR last year, for PTSD, I looked it up, and was not sure what to expect, I saw a specialist privately, because of an insurance claim after a bad accident.

I have to say the results were amazing! It took some time, about 12 sessions, but we got there in the end.

It may depend on your practitioner, but I would have no hesitation in recommending mine, and I would say it is definitely worth trying

Thankyou cazbaz for your reply.Yes I did have EMDR from a private psychiatrist at £330 per hour.Yes it had amazing results.I had 10 the amount I could pay for.I felt I needed more and asked about NHS availability but found no joy.I do think more people like us could benefit from EMDR

Sorry Hector its the fibro fog I think when I read it does not always go in right. I asked my GP this question, and he said that EMDR is not at present available on the NHS.

this was quite recent, can't see it changing unfortunately.

I agree that it should be available, it had such beneficial results. my treatment was £180 per hour, and that seemed expensive!

I hope you can find the help you need, best wishes Caz

What part of the country are you living in.I am in Wigan. The psychiatrist worked at Halton hospital and I saw him at spires private hospital at Stretton near Warrington.Yes £180 sounds better than £330. It is so sad that such a brilliant cure is only available for those that can afford it.Thankyou for your concern.
