I was recently referred to get some blood tests for Addison disease and I haven't had my results back yet. However, I have received a letter through the post about seeing an endocrinologist.
What is this?
Why have I been referred?
Where are my results?

An endocronologist is a specialist in the system that control the production of hormones - this would fit with addisons as this is caused by problems with the adrenal gland.
The most likely explanation for the referral is that something showed up in the blood results but interpreting them can be very difficult so you are being referred to a specialist who will be able to carry out other tests and be more knowledgeable about other clinical (symptom) factors.
