Prostap SR - Will my heavy periods and clotting stop?

Hi, i am looking for advise and people who have experience with the Prostap SR injections. I got diagnosed with Fibroids in February 2022 and they started me on various medications to stop my periods (Provera & Norethisterone) both of which didnt work.

I started my Prostap SR injections 4 days ago and im passing palm sized clots (worst clots yet!) I have been told that this along with the heavy periods will stop after the 2nd injection. I am due to go abroad at the end of August and will have had 3 injections at this point.

Symptoms so far is heavy bleeding and clotting and fatigue

Any guidance and experiences will be most appreciated.

xx

Hi I was exactly the same Prostap made my bleeding so much worse I had 3 injections and took it upon myself to stop them so carried on taking northisterone after a year of continual bleeding ( I have had fibroids and heavy bleeding for about 15 years !!!I am in my 50s now ) I saw my Gyney consultant during lockdown and she booked me in for a hysterectomy 8 months later was my appointment!!! But the day I left the consultation she gave me another prostap injection!!! Next day all of a sudden I started bleeding so heavy clots were larger than my hands I rang an ambulance as was feeling faint and they rushed me into hospital I had an emergency hysterectomy and 2 blood transfusions I really don’t want to scare you but I wish I had pushed for a hysterectomy years agoI feel amazing now but prostap definitely did not work for me you know your own body if you keep bleeding g after a couple of injections go back and make sure they change your treatment xx

Thank you so much for this, the clots have been the size of my palm!! i have spoke to my gyny consultant and they say this is 'normal and i wouldn't see the full effects of the Prostap until after the 2nd or 3rd. I'm due to go abroad the last day in August and starting to panic that i will still be bleeding, i would of had 3 injections at this point, however if it didn't work it would completely ruin the holiday (sending my anxiety through the roof) and the consultant was well aware of this. Northisterone and Provera did nothing for me, hence why i started these injections from the reassurance off my gyny that this is the only thing to stop the bleeding.

I am 35 and don't have any children although we have been trying for some years now so a hysterectomy wasn't an option, although the way I've been bleeding i have heavily considered it!

Hi Kya1410Go and get the fibroids removed before it gets too late, I had two friends who had fibroids and one of my friends waited for 10 years before getting the removed and had to get a hysterectomy, but the other friend had her fibroids removed after passing out at work, and she could still have children.

Hi Chemae110 The prostap SR is the preperation im having before having them removed at the back end of the year. They have you take Prostap to shrink the fibroids making them easier to remove. I am planned in for fibroid removal. However had my 2nd injection on 22.07.22 and i have started heavy bleeding again

😔

My friend had her Fibroids removed a few years ago and now she is doing fine. She passed out at work a few times before having them removed.
